Huntley Wal-Mart Supercenter Breaks Ground
On July 9, the Mayor and Trustees of Huntley, IL joined representatives from Tucker Development and Wal-Mart Corporation for the offical groundbreaking ceremony of the Huntley Wal-Mart Supercenter located on Route 47 at Kruetzer in Huntley, Illinois. Wal-Mart officials said they hoped to open the 176,400 square foot store by early Spring 2009. It is projected the store will create some 350 jobs and will nearly double the Village of Huntley's tax base. The Huntley Wal-Mart Supercenter will feature 36 general merchandise departments, an expanded lawn and garden center, a full line of electronics, a large health and beauty aids department, and a pharmacy. In addition, there will be a vision center and a one-hour photo lab. The grocery area will include a bakery, delicatessen, fresh produce , meat, frozen foods, and a dairy department.
